Can’t seem to down load registration form. I’ve tried e-mailing before but have not gotten a response.

    Please advise.

Reading all the blogs regarding Paterson Day made me feel 17 again, but only for a very short time.
I attended school 21 and graduated in 1952 along with Mike Stein, whom I dated in high school and married after college. We are now married 49 years. No, that can’t be right. How can we be almost 70 and yet feel so young and remember vividly our 8th grade teacher, “Old lady Grady” as she was affectionately known and every teacher in Eastside from 1952 to 1956. Going downtown on the #70 and 71 bus from Madison Avenue, lunch at Tree Tavern and later a double feature at the Fabian, Garden or US. I was not allowed to go to the Rivoli, can’t remember why. Meyer Brothers… remember the elevator operators wore white gloves?

Singing Christmas carols with our class; can’t remember if it was chorus in school 21 or Eastside, on the big staircase in Quackenbush. Does anyone remember eating lunch at Drick’s or the Cozy? Sororities and fraternities were so “in” for the Jewish crowd and the dances held at Temple Emanuel or Barnert Temple by the sororities and fraternities were the big social events culminating with the crowning of a king and queen of the evening. Sundays at Eastside Park in summer or the “Y” on Van Houten Street were also important if you wanted to be “seen”

Every blog was so special and so was Paterson. Now, would we want to go back? I think not. Better to savor our memories. Not planning to attend Paterson Day this year, although we live in Palm Beach. We are the “seniors” now and hardly knew anyone two years ago. Would love to hear from anyone who remembers us. Reminiscing is so very special. Maybe we could be persuaded to attend.

Elaine Handelman Stein, School 21 1952, and Eastside 1956; and Mike Stein; same schools and years.
